There’s a high possibility that you received an engagement ring during the holidays, which means- it’s wedding planning season for you! January through March is always a busy booking season for wedding photographers. It’s such a fun season of meeting excited couples and celebrating bookings over coffee or drinks. When a bride and groom inquire for wedding photography, most likely they already have their wedding venue booked. Since I usually don’t get to refer venues, I wanted to highlight my favorite wedding venues in the area! There are some incredible wedding venues around Middle Georgia, and I plan to highlight my top ten favorite venues over the next few weeks. The first one being- The Macon Terminal Station Wedding Venue! Follow these posts so you can see first-hand from a professional wedding photographer which wedding venues I love most!

Today’s Wedding Venue Highlight

My first highlight in this series will be- The Macon Terminal Station Wedding Venue! It’s definitely my favorite wedding venue in Macon. It’s so elegant, spacious enough to have a large ceremony and reception, and close to everything in downtown Macon. Most wedding venues are outdoor locations with not many options if the weather is bad. With The Terminal Station, everything is inside so rain won’t be an issue on your wedding day! Most of the wedding portraits I have taken here were inside, and the photos we took outside were mostly covered. If you’re wanting an elegant venue in Macon that’s weather friendly, I recommend you look into The Macon Terminal Station!

The Macon Terminal Station was built in 1916 but in 2010 it received a $5 million renovation, which is absolutely breathtaking. As it says on The Macon Newsletter, “The beautifully restored 14,000 square foot lobby features original marble, gilt molding, and wooden benches.”.

This wedding venue is the perfect option to consider if you are wanting to host a black-tie wedding. Every wedding I have photographed here has been beautifully decorated that portrays a timeless and gala like feel. The lobby can be split into two different rooms, divided by drapes (usually provided by Southern Florals and Drapes) so you can have your ceremony and reception side by side, but feels like two separate rooms.

Once the ceremony is over, the ceremony site is flipped into a dancefloor big enough for your wedding reception to be the party of the year.

An added bonus is that the building itself provides an incredible backdrop for pictures, especially at night.
