Will and Emily were married at The Club at Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville on a perfect summer Saturday. The rain held off, we had cloud coverage all day which made things a little more bearable in this insane Georgia weather, and they were troopers through the heat and humidity! I would say Emily was one of the most chill brides I’ve ever met. To start their wedding day off, she wanted to hang out at the pool with their bridal party and that’s what they did! Drinking mimosas, sliding down the water slide with her husband to be, and soaking in (literally) the anticipation for what the day was going to bring was the perfect way to start the wedding.

I could easily see how much they adored each other. From the way Will couldn’t stop the tears flowing as he read Emily’s letter that she wrote him, to more tears when he turned around and saw her during the first look, and the way he looked at her with such adoration while she danced the night away at the reception. It was so sweet to be a part of and I was honored to be their wedding photographer and capture all those sweet moments for them!

How they fell in love is the perfect small town love story, so I had Emily share where it all began and how Will proposed.

“I first met Will in downtown Milledgeville at Amici.  I had just started my job as a hostess there and Will came in at least twice a week with his friends to eat and sit at the bar.  I can remember thinking how handsome he was. And I can remember coincidentally needing a lot of things from behind the bar while he was always eating.  I don’t exactly know how I managed to catch his attention, but I did.  And from right off the bat he called me “Em”.  That’s when I knew I liked him.  He was tall, tan, and had the long hair I always dreamed of having. But if I couldn’t have it, I was glad he did.  Will played it cool at first and wasn’t totally sure he wanted a girlfriend but after about a month or so, I was sure for him. Spending time with Will was always fun.  He was easy going, but opinionated. He was silly, but confident. He was sensitive, but strong. And he was mine.

Once I graduated college, I came to the conclusion he was worth sticking around Milledgeville for and Will and I decided to move in together.  Coming home to him each day is still one of my favorite blessings.  Over the years we’ve shared so many memories, so much fun, and so much laughter.  Will is without question my best friend.  He loves me so well; my insatiable appetite, sweaty hands, and all.  Falling in love with Will meant falling in love with his heart, his family, his town, and obviously his dog. And that was just too easy.  I fell in love with it all and I fell hard. That’s why I was absolutely beside myself when Will proposed to me on Christmas day last year with both his and my family (and of course Blaze) there to celebrate with us. After opening four huge, but empty boxes, I looked up at Will to ask him what was going on and he was already on one knee, with the most beautiful ring I could have ever imagined.  Honestly, I don’t even remember exactly what he said; I was just so excited all I kept saying was “thank you!”.  I may not remember the words, but I sure remember the feeling.  And what’s so amazing is that I get to spend the rest of my life feeling this way.  I still can’t believe God gave me a love like this, but I am so excited and blessed to spend the rest of my days praising the Lord, with the love of my life by my side.”
