Will and Emily were married at The Club at Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville on a perfect summer Saturday. The rain held off, we had cloud coverage all day which made things a little more bearable in this Georgia heat! I would say Emily was one of the most chill brides I’ve ever met. To start off their wedding day, she wanted to hang out at the pool with their bridal party so that’s what they did! Drinking mimosas, sliding down the water slide with Will, and soaking in (literally) the anticipation for what the day was going to bring. It was the perfect way to start the wedding day.
Emily + Will
I could easily see how much they adored each other. From the way Will couldn’t stop the tears flowing as he read Emily’s letter that she wrote him, to more tears when he turned around and saw her during the first look, and the way he looked at her with such adoration while she danced the night away at the reception. It was so sweet to be a part of and I was honored to be their wedding photographer and capture all those sweet moments for them!
How they fell in love is the perfect small town love story, so I had Emily share where it all began and how Will proposed.
How They Met
“We met in downtown Milledgeville at Amici where I had just started my job as a hostess there and Will would come in at least twice a week to eat at the bar. I remember thinking how handsome he was and coincidentally needing things from behind the bar while he ate. I’m not sure how I caught his attention, but I did. Right off the bat he called me “Em” and that’s when I knew I liked him. He was tall, tan, and had the long hair I always dreamed of having. If I couldn’t have it, I was glad he did. Will played it cool at first and wasn’t totally sure he wanted a girlfriend but after about a month or so, I was sure for him. Will was easy going, but opinionated. Silly, but confident. Sensitive, but strong. And he was mine.”
“I decided Will was worth sticking around Milledgeville for, so we moved in together. Coming home to him is still my favorite thing. Falling in love with Will meant falling in love with his family, his town, and obviously his dog. I fell in love with it all. That’s why I was beside myself when Will proposed to me on Christmas day last year with both his and my family there to celebrate with us! After opening four empty boxes, I looked at Will to ask him what was happening and he was on one knee, with the most beautiful ring. Although I don’t remember what he said; I just remember all I kept saying was “thank you!”. I may not remember the words, but I remember the feeling. I’m so blessed to spend forever praising the Lord, with the love of my life by my side.”
