Sara and Robert’s got married a couple weeks ago at North Macon Presbyterian Church followed by a beautiful reception at New City Church in Downtown Macon. I actually attend New City Church and I’ve always wanted to photograph a wedding there, so I was extremely excited for Sara and Robert’s big day! Everything was beautiful and picture perfect. I always love to share how the bride and groom met and their proposal story, so I had Sara share it!
How they met: “Robert and I met at the University of North Georgia. He had recently graduated from Georgia College, and volunteered to be an ultimate frisbee coach at UNG. Since the women’s team was small and rarely had enough members for practice, Robert and I saw each other 2 days a week at a coed practice and became fast friends.”
How he proposed: “My favorite place since childhood has been Savannah, GA. We took a weekend trip, and he proposed on Easter Sunday on the Savannah river boat. The boat photographer overheard him telling the staff his plans, so we have photos of the entire process!”
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hunt!
I LOVED Sara’s wedding earrings, which was also a gift to each of her bridesmaids. Sara said, “My favorite wedding details were the Japanese earrings for my bridal party. While teaching English in Japan, I visited the site of the 2011 tsunami. It changed my outlook on life. Our earrings were custom made by women at the Nozomi Project, a business that provides jobs and support to single mothers effected by the tsunami.”
B. Monroe Salon did such a great job on Sara’s hair and makeup!
Sara’s dress fit her personality perfectly, and I think she looks like she stepped out of a Jane Austin book! Thanks to David’s Bridal for helping her find the perfect wedding dress.
I asked Sara if she had any tips for other brides planning a wedding, and this is what she said. “DIY has it’s important place, but spending a few extra dollars can make the wedding day stress-free! Find one part of the wedding that is the most worth it to you (pics/catering/DJ) and treat yourself. A good vendor will save you hours of worry. Other decisions can be made around your priority.”
Petals of Macon did such an amazing job on all the flowers for the wedding. The bridesmaids bouquets were stunning!
This beautiful sign was made by one of Sara’s friends/bridesmaids, Kendall with Cottonwood Collections. She did such a great job on it!
The cake was beautiful and delicious thanks to Publix!
For the reception, Sara and Robert wanted breakfast food, and it was amazing! Creekside Caterers did an amazing job with everything!
Everyone partied hard at the reception thanks to DJ Club Rett!
If you’re looking for an industrial, urban, and historic wedding venue in Macon, New City Weddings is the place for you! Not only is it a beautiful wedding venue, but they give a big portion of each wedding income to DFCS here in Macon, and I just love that!
