Last week my sweet friend Cari asked me if we could squeeze a quick mini photo shoot of Lilah Grey before her first birthday, and of course I said yes! First birthdays are so fun and yet so hard all at the same time. You’re so happy that your baby is growing, seeing more of their personality peek through, and getting to know them better, but you also realize just how quickly time flies by. Those elderly ladies in the grocery store are right when they say, “don’t blink because before you know it, they’ll be grown!” (insert crying emoji here). With that said, it is SO important to document these milestones and get professional pictures taken of your quickly growing babes. Even I struggle with this with my own babies, and I’m the professional photographer! 😉 I may or may not have just photographed my baby boy’s monthly picture for turning 9 months old, and he’ll be turning 10 months old in about a week… Better late than never right? But I still need to do a full photo shoot with him. 😉

Also, can we just take a moment and talk about Lilah’s eyes?! They are so piercingly beautiful!

During the photo shoot, Cari asked me if we could squeeze in some photos of her nursing Lilah, and as a nursing mother myself, I was totally on board! I loved that she wanted to document these photos to celebrate one year of breastfeeding. To all the other nursing Mamas out there, hats off to you because it’s definitely not for the faint of heart! As Cari and I both said, nursing has been one of the hardest things we’ve ever done, so it’s definitely something worth documenting and getting pictures of!

I absolutely loved Cari and Lilah’s colors and outfit choices! Lilah’s romper is from Jamie Kay and I’m completely obsessed with it.

Lilah Grey was such a sweetheart through the whole photo shoot. She kept smiling, clapping, and bouncing and I loved that she had such a good time hanging out with me! She even held up her finger to show off that she’s about to have a birthday and turn one! #smartypants

Happy first birthday, sweet girl! I can tell you are so loved by many!
