Katie and Luke were married on December 28th at Ahava in Downtown Macon, Georgia. It was a beautiful day! I’m so impressed when couples plan their weddings near a holiday, especially right after Christmas and before New Year’s! Katie and everyone involved in planning did an incredible job on everything. I’m so honored to be their wedding photographer! I hope you enjoy photos some of my favorite parts of the day!

We started the day off at Coleman Hill Park for their first look, which was so sweet.
I love how Katie and Luke washed each other’s feet during their first look. It was a beautiful act of service to one another and I would be lying if I said I didn’t tear up watching them!
It was started to drizzle a bit, but thankfully it wasn’t too bad to interrupt pictures. After a few portraits and family pictures, we headed to the ceremony site at Ahava in Downtown Macon, where they had an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family surrounding them.
The Ceremony
As soon as the ceremony started, the rain picked up and was getting pretty heavy. I was thankful to be inside and done with outdoor pictures! Their ceremony was beautiful. They shared communion together, lit a unity candle, and recited their own vows that were beautifully written. At a previous meeting, Katie warned me that she would be barefoot on her wedding day, so it was no surprise when I saw Luke was also barefoot during the ceremony. I love it when couples showcase their personalities throughout their wedding day!
I love the look on Katie’s face as the officiant was announcing them as husband and wife!
Afternoon weddings are so lovely to me. There’s something so sweet about them that makes me fall in love with them every time I photograph one. Katie and Luke celebrated the rest of the afternoon with the ones closest to them. I would say they had the most perfect day they could have asked for. I’m so thankful they chose me as their wedding photographer and wish them the happiest marriage together! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Burkes!
