I loved hanging out with Ally and Kurt for their engagement session a couple weeks ago! Being the place where they went to college, and ended up meeting their senior year, they wanted to do the engagement session at GCSU and downtown Milledgeville. (#gobobcats) Of course, Milledgeville is my hometown so I’m always excited to go, especially if Blackbird Coffee is involved! I love it when my couple’s incorporate a part of their love story when picking out the location for their engagement photos. We started the shoot at The Old Governor’s Mansion, then ventured around front campus and the rest of Downtown Milledgeville, and ended at The River Walk. I love shooting engagement sessions because it’s the perfect opportunity to have fun and for me to get to know you better before the wedding day. It also helps you and your fiance get used to being behind the camera and hopefully not be as nervous about taking pictures come the big day! It’s always my number one goal to have a blast and let the engagement session be like a fun date where you and your future spouse can laugh, flirt it out, and in result, get beautiful pictures of your love story captured!
I loved Ally and Kurt’s outfit choices. The subtle and soft colors would match any wall in any home, and that’s what I always suggest when picking out your wardrobe for pictures.
I photographed Ally and Kurt’s engagement session both on my film camera and digital camera and I love how all the photos turned out!
Ally and Kurt will be getting married this September at The Corry House in Lake Oconee, which will be sweet because Kurt grew up going to Lake Oconee. I am so excited for their big day and I am honored to be their wedding photographer!
A little more about me- I’m Candice Emerson and I’ve been a wedding photographer for over 9 years now! I’m a hybrid photographer, which means I shoot on digital cameras as well as film cameras. My style has been considered “light and airy”, romantic, and timeless. I absolutely love every wedding I have the honor to photograph whether it be a barn wedding, beach wedding, destination wedding, elopement, church wedding, or even an intimate woodland wedding, I’m a native to Macon, GA and photograph weddings and families in Macon, Fort Valley, Milledgeville, and Atlanta. I’m always up for an adventure and ready for destination weddings or engagement sessions any day of the year!
