We had Taylor and Matt’s engagement session at Wormsloe Plantation and Downtown Savannah planned for months, and I was so excited for it! My little family planned a long weekend in our pop up camper and headed down there the day before the shoot. A few hours after we got to our campsite, the stomach bug hit me (and my husband & toddler) out of nowhere! Not only was I sick in a town 3 hours away from home, we were in a pop up camper without a bathroom. Talk about a nightmare! I hoped all night long that it was just something we ate and that I could still do the shoot the next day, but as morning came it was clear we were very sick. I texted Taylor to let her know, and we scrambled to figure something out. Unfortunately it was the only weekend she and Matt could take engagement pictures, so we decided to reach out to other photographers to see who could take over for me. I blasted all the photography groups I’m in, and even texted strangers local to Savannah. My friend and fellow photographer Rachel Linder saved the day when she said she could drive down and do it! It worked out perfectly because Taylor already loved Rachel’s work, plus she and I have very similar styles. It couldn’t have been a better match! I’ve always believed the phrase we photographers say “community over competition”, and it rang so true when Rachel was willing to cover for me. I’m so thankful for a great community of photographers that have each other’s backs when we need the help! Rachel killed it with these pictures and Matt & Taylor are stunning! I’m so looking forward to their wedding in November!
Engagement Session at Wormsloe Plantation & Downtown Savannah | Taylor + Matt
Taylor, you are a QUEEN.
After shooting at Wormsloe Plantation, they ended the engagement session in and around Forsyth Park. I love how they all turned out!
Congratulations, Taylor and Matt! (and thank you again, Rachel)!!
