October 26th 2019 was a long awaited day for everyone who came Katie and Alex’s wedding, including me, but especially Katie and Alex! Katie came to me over a year ago saying they wanted to book me as their wedding photographer and I’m SO happy to finally be sharing their beautiful wedding pictures with you all! They were married at The Venue at Tryphena’s Garden in Fort Valley, and the whole week before the wedding, the weather forecasted for it to rain all day Saturday. Even the morning of, I was fully prepared to photograph the whole day in the rain, BUT GOD knew the desires of Katie’s heart and it didn’t rain all day (other than a few sprinkles after the first look)! It was a beautiful surprise to make their wedding day even more special. I absolutely loved this elegant fall wedding at The Venue at Tryphena’s Garden. It was full of beauty and everything was perfect.

Elegant Fall Wedding at The Venue at Tryphena’s Garden

The Venue at Tryphena’s Garden is definitely my favorite wedding venue in Middle Georgia, and it was the perfect backdrop for Katie and Alex’s wedding. It is a gorgeous venue that has an Italian vibe that sets it apart from the rest. And the fact that there are always flowers blooming, no matter what time of year it is, makes it even more beautiful. Not to mention, Clara is an amazing venue owner and coordinator and I love working with her every chance I get!

I love hearing how each couple gets engaged, so I had Katie write out their sweet (and amusing) story!

The Proposal

“I used to go to school in Chattanooga, TN and Alex would always drive up to visit me. When I moved to Birmingham with him, we made it a priority to take trips up there. One week he asked if I wanted to take a trip up there, and of course I said yes! When that Friday came around, I was getting laundry done and packing for our weekend away. I thought he might propose that weekend but had talked myself out of it. When he got home he kept calling out my name. I went to see what he wanted, thinking he wanted help bringing in some tools before we left. In all of my sweaty glory I walked around the corner to see Alex holding a ring in his hand. He professed his love to me and asked me to marry him. I wanted to say yes but my reaction was shaking my head no. I couldn’t believe it! Through the crying I finally said “yes”!!! We still laugh about it to this day because it was so imperfectly perfect. Neither of us are showy so it makes sense that he proposed when I least expected it.”

Thanks to these amazing vendors for making the day so incredible!
